Constantinian Knight Cardinal Pietro Palazzini dies. Vatican City - October 2000.

It is with much regret that the Grand Magistry of the Constantinian Order announces the death of His Eminence Pietro, Cardinal Palazzini a Bailiff Knight Grand Cross of Justice.

Cardinal Palazzini was born in Piobbico, central Italy, on 19 May 1912. Cardinal Palazzini attended the regional seminary at Fano and between 1928 and 1932 he studied Theology and Law at the Lateran University. Cardinal Palazzini was ordained a priest on 6 December 1934 and went on to receive a degree in Theology in 1937 and in 1958 was named Secretary of the Holy Congregation of the Council (today for the clergy). In 1959 Cardinal Palazzini was named Consultor for the Commission for the Authentic Interpretation of the Code of Canon Law.

In 1961 he was named Consultor for the Holy Office. On 28 August 1962, His Holiness Pope John XXIII appointed him Bishop of the titular Church of Cesarea in Cappadocia. Cardinal Palazzini published numerous works, wrote for the Osservatore Romano , and was an editor for the magazine Studi Cattolici from its founding until 1958. He was elevated to the Sacred College of Cardinals by, His Holiness Pope Paul VI during the Consistory of 5 March 1973 and during the 1980s was Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints.

It is with much regret that the Grand Magistry of the Constantinian Order announces the death of His Eminence Vincenzo, Cardinal Fagiolo, a Bailiff Knight Grand Cross of Justice. Cardinal Fagiolo served with distinction as Grand Prior of the Constantinian Order until his death in September 2000.

Born in Segni, near Rome, on 5 February 1918, Cardinal Fagiolo was ordained on 6 March 1943. The Cardinal was considered one of the Church's greatest experts on Canon Law. In addition to his degrees in Sacred Scripture and Canon Law, which he received from the Lateran University, he earned his teaching degree in Ecclesiastical and Canon Law from the University of Sapienze in Rome, and later from the University of Gabriele D'Annunzio in Abruzzi.

Cardinal Fagiolo then went on to teach Contract Law in Rome. Between 1979 and 1984, Cardinal Fagiolo worked as Vice-President of the Italian Episcopal Conference and President of the Italian "Caritas." His Curial responsibilities have been extensive, especially during his term as President of the Pontifical Council for the Interpretation of Legislative Texts. He was President of the Disciplinary Committee for the Roman Curia since 1990, and was elevated to the College of Cardinals by His Holiness Pope John Paul II during the Consistory of 26 November 1994.
