Baroness ScotlandLondon, April 2016. Delegation Dame, HE Alderman The Right Hon Baroness Scotland of Asthal, GCMCO, QC, retired as Vice Delegate for England of the Constantinian Order, following her election as Secretary-General of the Commonwealth.

Baroness Scotland was first invested into the Order in 2002 as a Dame of Merit with Star of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George. In 2014, Her Excellency was promoted to the rank of Dame Grand Cross of Merit and appointed Vice-Delegate for England.

Anthony Bailey said: “Baroness Scotland has been an active supporter of the Delegations for the Caribbean and Great Britain and Ireland. Baroness Scotland has been a strong advocate of the significant charitable, social and educational programmes currently being undertaken by the Delegation in Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada and St Lucia. She is a strong advocate too of the Order’s longstanding activities in furthering greater understanding between the followers of all faiths and those of none.

In a letter addressed to the Delegation on 1 February 2016, Baroness Scotland wrote: “I am proud of my long standing membership of our Order and most especially of the important work which the Delegation is undertaking across numerous Commonwealth countries – some of which I have been able to see at firsthand.

Baroness Scotland assured the Delegation of her continued support of the Order and expressed her deep gratitude to have been elected to serve “this great family of nations.”
