British and Irish Delegate calls on the Greek Orthodox PatriarchateDamascus – May 2005. During his visit to Damascus, the British and Irish Delegate, Mr Anthony Bailey, called on His Grace Bishop Ghattas Hazim, Patriarcal Vicar of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate based in Damascus. Also attending the meeting was Engineer Samer Laham, Director of Ecumenical Relations and Miss Melanie Guerra from the British and Irish Chancery.

During the one and a half hour meeting, discussions were held as to ways in which the Constantinian Order can assist the Church in a number of interfaith seminars and exchange visits planned for the coming year.

Bishop Ghattas Hazim also extended to the British & Irish Delegate a message of welcome from His Beatitude Patriarch Ignatius IV of Antioch and All the East who was away on official business in the United States of America.
