CAFODLondon, January 2015. Delegation Dame The Lady Brennan of Bibury has asked the Chancery to extend an invitation to the knights and dames of the delegation and to the friends of the Order to attend a dinner as part of CAFOD’s ‘From Poverty to Opportunity’ campaign. The dinner will be held on Tuesday 17 February 2015 at 8pm at China Tang, The Dorchester, Park Lane, Mayfair, London, W1K 1QA. A champagne reception will be held prior from 7.30pm. Dress code is Black tie (lounge suit permitted).

CAFOD is the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and part of Caritas International. Inspired by Scripture and Catholic Social Teaching, and the experiences and hopes of people living in poverty, CAFOD works for a safe, sustainable and peaceful world.

The evening will provide a chance to reflect on the achievements and ambitions of the ‘From Poverty to Opportunity’ campaign, which aims to foster livelihoods opportunities for those living in some of the poorest countries in the world. While there is no cost for the dinner, the Chancery suggests that a contribution be made to support the campaign.

The evening will also launch CAFOD’s partnership with the DFID UK Aid Match scheme, whereby the UK government will match pound for pound any donation made by individual supporters. Donations made to the appeal will be matched, meaning that any gift will go twice as far, and CAFOD will be able to help even more of those in most need.

As places are limited, please contact Madeleine Avery at CAFOD on 020 7095 5336, or by email mavery@cafod.org.uk with your response at your earliest convenience. Do please email the Chancery too once you have confirmed your place.
