Modena – May 2003. General Massimo De Maggio, Commander of the historic and prestigious Military Academy in Modena, welcomed His Eminence Mario Francesco, Cardinal Pompedda, the Order’s Grand Prior, with full military honours. He was invited to the Academy to deliver a speech entitled “Christian roots of Europe” to the students of the Military Academy.
After the talk, the Cardinal invested the General Commandant with the insignia of Knight Commander of Merit of the Constantinian Order and then celebrated the Mass in the Cathedral in Modena. Later, the Cardinal, accompanied by Prof Leonardo Saviano, greeted the Prefect, Dr Italia Fortunati, the Rector of the University, Professor Pellacani and the Deputy-Mayor Alderman Dr Gianni Cottafavi.
