Rome, December 2011. Following the successful Official Visit to Hungary made by the Grand Master, HRH The Duke of Castro and HRH The Duchess of Castro in December 2010, the Constantinian Order has received the formal recognition by decree of The President of the Republic of Hungary.

In a letter addressed to the Grand Master and dated 26 May 2011, the Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary, HE Dr Zsolt Semjén, stated ‘ I have the great pleasure to inform you that the Foreign Affairs Office of the President of the Republic of Hungary, under the 1991 Act XXXI as per my request, has made the decision in the statement IX – 2 / 02757-0 / 2011 that Hungary allows s the use of medals and decorations of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George in a similar manner to those given by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

The medals and decorations must be given only and exclusively by His Royal Highness and the relevant documents must be issued or released by His Royal Highness or by a person appointed by His Royal Highness’.
