Colihaut DominicaRoseau, April 2016. The Renovation of the St Peter’s Presbytery in Colihaut, Dominica, one of the charitable projects financed by members of the Caribbean delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order in Dominica is very close to be completed.

The Renovation of the St Peter’s Presbytery in Colihaut, was interrupted when the village of Colihaut was severely flooded on 27 August 2015, by mud and water generated by Tropical storm ERIKA. Further delay was caused by the lack of pipe borne water. Despite the works being interrupted by the disaster, works on the project restarted on 24 September 2015 and all inhabitants of the village became involved in the cleaning up and repair works. By April 2016, the works on The Renovation of the St Peter’s Presbytery in Colihaut, which included new foundations, service rooms, a new kitchen, floor, wall and ceiling improvements, were substantially completed.

The Sacred Military Order of St George has also financially aided and supported three further projects in Dominica:

  • The Renovation of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Fair Haven, Roseau, Dominica;
  • The Renovation of Our Lady of Mount Carmle Retirement Home, Morne Daniel, Dominica;
  • The Construction of the Diocesan Youth Centre, Roseau, Dominica.

In a letter addressed on 5 April 2016 to the Order’s Delegate of the Caribbean, Anthony Bailey, The Most Rev Gabriel Malzaire, Bishop of Roseau, thanked the Constantinian Order, its members and donors who contributed towards these much-needed projects. The remaining projects are expected to be completed by early 2017.
