London, November 2006. At both the annual investiture ceremony at Westminster Cathedral and at the start of Royal Gala Dinner a one silence was observed following the last month’s death of the Cardinal Grand Prior of the Order, His late Eminence Mario Francesco Cardinal Pompedda.
Also remembered were other knights and dames of both the Constantinian Order and the Royal Order of Francis I who past away during the past year. These included His late Eminence Giuseppe, Cardinal Caprio, HE Frà Carlo Arditi di Castelvetere, Major General Viscount Monckton of Brenchley, HE Sheikh Zaki Badawi, HE Mr David Garrison, Captain Gerard Salvin, Mr Nicola Vecchione, and Mr John Brooke-Little.
