CaribbeanLondon, March 2015. The Chancery is pleased to announce the launch of the official website of the Delegation for the Caribbean of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George.

In November 2014, to mark the new international engagement of the Order, the Grand Master had publicly announced during the Official Visit the creation of a permanent Delegation for the Caribbean.

The Order has been active in charitable projects in the Caribbean since 1981, most notably in St Lucia. Following Official Visits paid by the Grand Master and Cardinal Grand Prior in 2013 and 2014, charitable programmes have been launched in Barbados, Dominica, St Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago, with more planned for the period 2015-2016.

The commenced charitable projects include in Antigua & Barbuda, the completion of the Good Samaritan Catholic Church and Community Outreach Centre in Hatton, the redevelopment of St Joseph’s Academy school, the complete renovation of St Joseph’s and St Patrick’s Catholic Church on Independence Avenue and a sizeable sponsorship of the Antilles Episcopal Conference Youth Assembly 2015.

In Dominica, projects include the restoration of the historic Our Lady of Fair Haven Cathedral in Roseau, the renovation of St Peter’s Presbytery in Colihaut and the renovation of Our Lady of Morne Carmel Retirement Home in Morne Daniel as well as the rebuilding of the Diocesan Youth Centre in Roseau.

In St Lucia, they include the external restoration of the Catholic Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Castries and the publication of the book written by His Grace The Most Reverend Robert Rivas, Archbishop of Castries ‘How Beautiful the Valley’.

The Cardinal Prior of the Caribbean Delegation is His Eminence Kelvin Cardinal Felix, and the Prior of the Delegation is His Grace The Most Reverend Robert Rivas, Archbishop of Castries. The Sub-Prior of Antigua and Barbuda and St Kitts and Nevis is The Most Reverend Kenneth Richards, Bishop of St John’s-Basseterre. The Sub-Prior of Dominica is The Most Reverend Gabriel Malzaire, Bishop of Roseau. The Sub-Prior of Barbados and St Vincent and the Grenadines is The Most Reverend Jason Gordon, Bishop of Bridgetown and Bishop of Kingstown.

The Delegate ad Interim for the Caribbean is His Excellency Anthony Bailey, Deputy of the Royal Deputation of the Order and Magistral Delegate for Inter-Religious Relations. The Vice-Delegate for Dominica is His Excellency Dr Nicholas Liverpool, former President of Dominica.
