Scott MacMillan, Baron of Rathdown, KCFO

Staunton, USA, March 2019. The Delegation of Great Britain and Ireland of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George and the Royal Order of Francis I notes with much sadness the passing on 25 February 2019 of Scott MacMillan, Baron of Rathdown, aged 71. His funeral took place on 9 March 2019 at the Good Shepherd Anglican Church in Texas and the delegation was represented by Cyril Woods, Baron of Slane.

Scott MacMillan, an Anglican, was a longstanding supporter of the Order’s Delegation in Ireland. He was appointed motu proprio as a Knight of the Royal Order of Francis I by decree of HRH Prince Ferdinand, Duke of Castro on 28 May 1998. In 2017 Scott was promoted motu proprio by decree of the Grand Master as a Knight Commander of the Royal Order of Francis I within the British and Irish delegation. His investiture took place in New York in November 2017.

Scott MacMillan, a US national, lived for many years in Ireland and was an accomplished film producer and screen writer. He was honoured by several dynasties for his professional and charitable work. Scott is survived by his wife Katherine and one son. He will be greatly missed.
