Witold SobkowLondon, June 2016. The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, HE Witold Sobków, KCMCO, has extinguished his post to the Court of St James’s after serving for four years.

Ambassador Sobków is a longstanding and senior member of the Constantinian Order having first been appointed as a Knight Commander of Merit with Star of the Constantinian Order in 2002 during a ceremony held in Dublin. Ambassador Sobków previously served as Poland’s Ambassador to Ireland and as Poland’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.

In a letter addressed to the Delegate, Anthony Bailey, the Ambassador wrote about his valuable experience and relationships he acquired as a diplomat in the United Kingdom.

“Whether I have met students, teachers, entrepreneurs, government or civic leaders, community activists, or Polish expatriates, I have been touched by the sincerity, kindness, and hospitality. This people to people diplomacy is a way to truly deepen our relationship and make it an enduring one.

“I am proud of the personal relationships I have developed with many persons: in government at all levels, members of the Royal Family, educational and cultural institutions, think tanks, the City of London, business leaders and organizations, and with citizens of the UK from all walks of life. […] The UK will always be in my heart and I intend to continue to work to further the bonds between our two great counties.” said Ambassador Sobków.

His Excellency personally thanked the Delegate for his friendship and support.
