London, May 2015. The Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, launched the campaign for Alderman The Rt Hon Baroness Scotland of Asthal, as Dominica’s candidate for the post of Secretary-General of the Commonwealth on 15 May 2015 at the Millennium Hotel in London.
Baroness Scotland, who has recently been appointed Vice-Delegate for England of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George, was born in Dominica to Antiguan and Dominican parents. She has served in many ministerial positions within the UK Government, most notably as the Attorney General for England and Wales and Advocate General for Northern Ireland.
The Campaign Launch Reception at Millennium Hotel in London was attended by leading Caribbean and Commonwealth diplomats. Delegate Anthony Bailey also attended.
