Tomb of Saint Francis of AssisiLondon, April 2015. The Chancery would like to update all our knights, dames and friends with further details in regards to the Constantinian Order Pilgrimage to the Tomb of St Francis of Assisi in Italy, scheduled for 18 to 21 September 2015. The Grand Master and Cardinal Grand Prior will also be present during the Pilgrimage.

The average cost per person with direct flights and transport from London Gatwick to Rome (Fiumicino) and by minibus transfer to Assisi, accommodation at hotel Fontabella Assisi in single rooms (double rooms are also available) for three nights with breakfast, lunch and dinner and guided tours of the various sites will cost £646 or €930. As the final deadline for applications is 24 July 2015, please indicate your interest in joining the Pilgrimage as soon as possible by contacting the Chancery.

The provisional programme for the pilgrimage is as follows:

Friday 18 September 2015

– Afternoon (until 7pm)  Arrival to Assisi and accommodation in hotels

– 20:00              Informal dinner at the Hotel Giotto (Via Fontebella, 41 – Assisi)

– 21:30              Moment of prayer at the Basilica di San Francesco

Saturday September 19 2015

– Morning          Penitential Rite

– 10:00              Guided Tour (Italian, English, French) to the Basilica and tomb of San Francesco

– 13:00              Lunch at Hotel Windsor Savoia (Viale Marconi, 1 – Assisi)

– 14:30              Guided Tour (Italian, English, French) to Basilica di Santa Chiara and other historical sites

– 18:30              Musical entertainment

– 20:00              Informal dinner at the Hotel Giotto (Via Fontebella, 41 – Assisi)

Sunday September 20 2015

– 11:00            Sunday Mass-Basilica di San Francesco by the Cardinal Grand Prior. The Holy Mass will start with the procession (first Dames in black with veil, and ribbons on the left side of their dresses; then Knights in morning dress and rosette on the left lapel, rosette, and mantle cape)
