Reading. April 2020. The Delegation of Great Britain and Ireland of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George notes with great sadness the passing on 19 April 2020, aged 71, of Father Antony Conlon

Father Conlon was appointed a Knight of Ecclesiastical Grace of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George by decree of HRH Prince Ferdinand, Duke of Castro and Grand Master on 5 June 2000.

Born in Dublin, Ireland, on 14 July 1949, Father Conlon was ordained to the Priesthood for the Archdiocese of Westminster in May 1979 by Cardinal Basil Hume.On behalf of all our delegation knights and dames in Britain and Ireland, I wish to extend my sincere sympathy to Mgr Conlon’s family and friends, and to the clergy and parishioners of his former parishes in the archdioceses of Westminster and Birmingham and at the Oratory School in Reading.

Fr Conlon was  a longstanding Chaplain of the British Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and within this context could be addressed as ‘Monsignor’. He also served for many years as National Chaplain of the Latin Mass Society and other charitable and religious groups.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam. Requiescat in pace. Rest in peace.
